Cross-Sector Relationships

Public Intersection

Purpose: To assist members of the Public Intersection--businesses, philanthropies, governments, faith-based organizations, and nonprofits--to recognize shared concerns and act as partners to address pressing community needs.

Objectives:

  • To improve communication, relationships, and collaboration among members of the Public Intersection
  • To enhance application of community resources towards meeting public needs
  • To develop materials that can be used in and by other communities to bring businesses, philanthropies, governments, faith-based organizations, and nonprofits together to address their local problems

Activities and Methods:

Our project activities include the following:

  • Holding training events for professionals in the public sector,
  • Designing learning or planning processes for targeted community groups,
  • Making conference presentations,
  • Conducting organizational or systemic assessments,
  • Facilitating group efforts to set goals or improve systems,
  • Creating group exercises to accomplish specific goals, and
  • Researching and writing for both academic and practitioner audiences,

Many of our resources are available on this website, and we are always willing to discuss your specific interests in person or on-line.  If you are designing an event that involves cross-organizational or cross-sector collaboration (either beginning a project or reviewing the status quo and moving forward), let us know of any specific training needs you have, and we will be glad to share individual training exercises with you.

We invite the opportunity to present a proposal to meet your consultation, facilitation, or training service needs.  Contact Margaret Henderson or Lydian Altman-Sauer for more information.
